About FOMAA
New York Metro Region

The Federation of Malayalee Associations of Americas (FOMAA), established in 2008, is the largest umbrella organization representing Malayalee associations across the USA and Canada.

Among 12 Regions of FOMAA, the New York Metro Region stands out as the most active and prestigious region, representing 11 prominent Malayalee associations, including the 53-year-old Kerala Samajam of Greater New York, encompassing the locations in New York City, such as Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island (Nassau & Suffolk Counties).

FOMAA serves the Indian and Malayalee diaspora by providing emotional, psychological, economic, artistic, and linguistic support, while fostering traditional Kerala values and promoting assimilation into American culture. The organization coordinates a wide range of social, cultural, charitable, educational, and sports activities, along with conducting conventions, seminars, workshops, and training sessions. Through its efforts, FOMAA empowers the Indian-origin Malayalee community to take leadership roles in local politics and culture, ensuring their voice is heard and their heritage celebrated.
